Patient information for your stay with your dog
As a dog owner, you are often faced with the question of care during an inpatient stay. But especially in times of emotional crisis, your dog is more than just an animal—it provides support and stability.
It has been scientifically proven that being close to your own dog can reduce stress and strengthen your emotional balance. That is why we allow and welcome you to bring your dog with you to therapy. We have compiled some information on this topic on these pages.
Admission requirements:
- Your dog must be well-behaved and friendly towards people and other dogs.
- Your dog is house-trained and can be left alone in the room for longer periods during your therapy sessions.
- Prior to admission, a copy of your dog liability insurance is required along with the other admission documents.
- On the day of arrival, patient management requires a current health certificate confirming that your animal is free of infectious diseases and vermin/parasites.
Please note:
- Only dogs that do not fall under the Bavarian “Kampfhundeverordnung” (regulation on dogs with increased aggressiveness and dangerousness) are accepted.
- Dogs can only be accepted from the age of at least 6 months.
- Unspayed female dogs must not be in heat at the time of admission or during their stay.
Special rules during your stay:
- Throughout your stay, your dog must be kept on a leash outside your room on the entire clinic premises (a collar must be worn in the room so that it can be leashed at any time).
- For hygiene reasons, your dog is not allowed in the dining rooms, group rooms, or other patient rooms. Please ensure that your dog remains in Villa Schwan. Access to the LIMES premises in the Elisabethenhof, the Fürstenhof, and (except for the dog therapy rooms) in the Schlosshotel wing of the building is not permitted. This is out of consideration for your fellow patients, who may have allergies or be afraid of dogs.
- Dog feces must be avoided and removed from the clinic grounds and spa facilities.
- As the owner of the animal, you are liable for any damage caused by your pet.
- The daily cleaning times for your room will be agreed with you directly after your arrival.
We charge a flat daily rate for your dog’s stay – our patient management team will be happy to provide you with further information.
